INTERESTED IN MORE “HOW TO” INVESTMENT INFO PLUS MY NOT ALWAYS POLITICALLY CORRECT RUMINATIONS ABOUT THE MARKET?
I have set up a blog to share my market analysis & insights -- and to sometimes blow off steam when something stupid (or brilliant) catches my eye. You can post comments and voice your opinion uncensored. Take a look:

This week's hot topics are:
1. "A Speculative Environment?"
2. "Worst Decade For Stocks"
3. "More ETF Resources"
4. "Asleep At The Crossover"
5. "Sunday Musings: Debt Disasters"

This is another free service, so spread the word to your friends.

A SANTA CLAUS RALLY
The markets obliged and, in Holiday spirit, strung together a 4-day rally to close the week at new highs for the year. It appears that the S&P 500 has broken out to the upside after meandering around the 1,100 level for the past 6 weeks.
Of course, volume has been somewhat low, which I expect to continue throughout next week. Once the new year starts, we will find out if this upside breakout has legs or not. Economic reports were casting a mixed picture with new-home sales dropping sharply in November while people seeking unemployment for the first time dropped and durable goods orders rose.
Our Trend Tracking Indexes (TTIs) inched slightly higher and have moved above their long-term trend lines by the following percentages:
Domestic TTI: +6.36%
International TTI: +9.27%
Hedge TTI: +0.68%
Key to higher stock market prices in 2010 will be a stronger housing market, which will not be accomplished without major progress in reducing unemployment. Also, it remains to be seen what the consequences on the economy will be once stimulus programs are being phased out.
I wish you a relaxing and pleasant Holiday season.
Until next week.
